Can someone explain internet personalities to me?

Post by Terry »

I posted a simple thread entitled, "So, how HOT is it where you are today?" I see (and appreciate) the 5 responses but how can there be 44 views without more replies? Everyone was somewhere today and everyone knew how hot it was where they were but only 5 chose to share that information with the rest of us despite being interested enough to click on the thread and read it. What gives? :?

Will there be several views to this post as well and only a handful of replies? :?

Kero, I left you a PM with a link to a thread about timing with pretty pictures on cbxworld. They had a good discussion a few years back about timing.

In my case because of my limited [but improving] mechanical abilities, i respond to posts like yours more often. A lot of people are lazy, with me being at the top of the list.
22 C and raining this morning.
Terry, please keep them coming.

I am not sure how the "view" counter works and if it does register views from people who are not logged in. This may be one of the reasons. You don't have to be logged in to read the posts, because we have a webmaster who isn't paranoid. The only thing is, you can't post, if you are not logged in. So you may see views, but not posts. Also, remember many people come here just because of the CBX. There are many who are not inetersted in anything other than CBX related subjects. One more: People who have posted come back to read other people's posts, which will count as a view. If all that did post come back and read all other posts one by one, you'll have 25 views.

On the matter of non registered people viewing a post and if this is included in the view count .........these views are counted.

There are things with any group that can be disappointing........not replying to posts is one ....and one of my unfaves is someone asking for help......... then not even posting a reply or thanks for the posts offering help/suggestions. Ofcourse there are many more.

I have learned over the years that we average 99% or so positive things on this line and at our rallies....andddd.....that is pretty good overall....but it is also just the way it is.

BTW.....the temps in Marlinton were perfect during the day for all the rides, but at a weeee bit cool in the evenings and mornings. It rained a couple of times....once on a ride and the other times in the evenings after everyone got back

At 7:05 pm CST, while assembling my air suspension controller on my '89 Yamaha Venture, it was still 88 degrees outside....slightly warmer in the garage. Had the big door & the little back door open...stilll not much breeze & warm enough to get the sweat to run down my arms.

But, hey, the automatic & manual controls are now working consistently.....another successful repair!! Woo-hoo!
