Hi from England! My name is Merv and i live around 40 miles away from Birmingham which is in the middle of the country. Im 43 years old and have been riding bikes since i was 12. I have just bought a 1980 z model that i am about to rebuild. i will be putting a post on the classifieds as i am short of a few bits, hope someone here will be able to help me out . I last had a cbx when i was 18 same colour too silver,wish this one was in the same condition !! All the best Merv.

Welcome! Silver is the fastest color too!!! 8) In the colonies, the silver is a Z model alright, but a 1979. I love mine, and my C model too!

mine has not been run for 4 years ! should be ok i hope! its only done 24 thousand miles, could use it as it is but i want it really nice. :lol:

That #44 serial # you saw is really 10044. That is sometime confusing, but there were nearly 25,000 '79s made.

I checked the ICOA Database and our records show the following 79s owned by members with the last two serial numbers less than CB1-2000099.

CB1-2000039, CB1-2000048, CB1-2000052, CB1-2000054, CB1-2000056, CB1-2000075 & CB1-2000079

There are ten or more with serial numbers between CB1-2000100 & CB1-2000199
